ESITC Paris' research in this area focuses on eco-building materials and on the study of water pollution and quality. It is being developed with partner laboratories and companies
In the area of eco-building materials, research is being carried out to develop knowledge and perfect building materials that meet today's technical and environmental requirements. The aim is to develop new cementitious materials that are bio-sourced or incorporate recycled materials. The results will not only provide new solutions for professionals in the construction and public works sector, but will also enable innovative scientific projects to be set up in collaboration with them and with other research establishments
Studies on water and the environment focus on the release of pollutants from construction materials and their impact on the environment, the migration of pollutants from materials in the drinking water network and green infrastructure in terms of rainwater management and urban climate mitigation (cool islands)
Research topics
♦ Development of cementitious eco-materials
- Reducing the impact on mineral resources
- Recycling waste from construction and industry
♦ Study of pollution using water as a pollutant vector
- Release of pollutants from construction materials and their impact on the environment
- Green infrastructure: stormwater management and mitigation on urban climate (cool islands)
- Migration of pollutants from drinking water network materials
